Thank you for helping us by purchasing “solidarity pumpkins”

As we did in 2019, this year again we grew and sold organic pumpkins in order to raise new funds for the project. To date we have got €1.373 which are being used mainly to buy anti-COVID items according to the demands of the Ugandan Education Ministry to reopen schools.

The purchase of thermometers, hydro-alcoholic gels, new desks to keep the social distance, etc. have allowed us to re-open the 7 of the project schools for the students in their last year, who at least will be able to prepare their graduation exams. However, we consider most important that all students are able to return to these “sustainable schools” where, in addition to receiving quality education, they cover their basic food and hygiene needs. Without the help of the students who usually attend to the school orchards, we have been forced to hire machinery to work the land to ensure we have enough food for the students by the time they are allowed back to school.

Therefore, many thanks to everyone who has helped us to mitigate the effects of the pandemia by purchasing our pumpkins. Our special thanks to all Neiker-Derio workers deeply involved In this initiative, as well as Lancor 2000 staff and the DFB firemen who participated actively on this iniciative. But hey everyone! we still have many pumpkins for sale if you want… We also take this opportunity to inform you we have opened a new way to push economically the project. Became a collaborator!
